What is a LPC? The title and license of Licensed Professional Counselor takes approximately 6 years to attain. It requires a college degree, a Masters degree, 3,000 hours of clinically supervised hours, plus passing a national examination. The Board of Professional and Occupational Affairs then examines all of the above before granting a license. An LPC can diagnose clients in Pennsy.
